Miss Clegg's essay thus far

Single Story Writing Project description

  • Have I “unpacked” the single story of me that I wanted to explore with details of what it is, where it comes from, how I am judged because of it, why people might think it?
  • Is my writing organized with intro, body, conclusion?
  • Are my paragraphs organized internally and flow well?
  • Is there a lot of repetition that can be eliminated? Did I tell facts about me or provide examples and details to SHOW information about me?
  • Are my English words chosen well? Did I use word reference and read the different options before selecting?
  • Do my sentences flow between Spanish/English? Did I think about why I chose Spanish or English for my body paragraphs? Does it flow naturally? Have I read it out loud to hear it? Or are my sentences short and choppy?
  • Have I written in my own voice and reflected on myself and my experiences? Have I personalized my writing with details and anecdotes?
  • Did I make the corrections suggested for my Spanish and read over my English sentences in addition to using spell check for my Spanish and English?
