Nancy E. Davis Memorial Scholarship
The Nancy E. Davis Memorial Scholarship has been established in the memory of Nancy E. Davis, a dedicated art teacher. Mrs. Davis taught in the Guilderland Central School District at Farnsworth Middle School for 33 years. She brought a passion for art to her family, friends, colleagues and students. It was Mrs. Davis’ wish that this scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 be awarded to a student who is “passionate about art and visually inventive” and whose life has been enriched by his/her art experiences within the Guilderland Central Schools.
The Nancy E. Davis Memorial Scholarship consists of two $1000.00 awards. For each award, applicants are required to submit a completed application along with a digital portfolio on a CD or DVD. A committee made up of art teachers and the K-12 Instructional Administrator for Art will meet to review applications.
COMPLETED APPLICATIONS DUE APRIL 12, 2013
To apply, a senior student must complete the attached form and satisfy the eligibility requirements as outlined.
Announcement and presentation of award recipients will be made during the annual Senior Awards program for 2012-13 school year this will take place on June 5, 2013.
The two
awards are briefly described below. You may click on the link to obtain

1.The
Nancy E. Davis Art Scholarship* is
awarded to a student wishing to further advance their studies in the
Visual Arts at an accredited University or College.
2.The Nancy
E. Davis Non Art Scholarship* is
awarded to a student who will not be pursuing advanced studies in the
Visual Arts. However, the student must have successfully completed a
minimum of three years of High School Art courses.
Please be advised that applications received after 3:00pm on April 12, 2013 will not be accepted.
New York State Art Teachers Association Scholarships
The New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA) has several scholarship awards available to students annually.
