Budget 2016-17

2016-17 budget vote approved by voters

On Tuesday, May 17, Guilderland Central School District residents approved a $96,590,045 budget for the 2016-17 school year by a vote of 1493 (yes) to 584 (no).

This budget represents a 3.10 percent increase in spending over the current year’s budget and will result in a 1.35 percent tax levy increase. Tax rates are estimated to increase by less than that amount at 0.74 percent for residents of the Town of Guilderland.

Voters also approved a $1,156,000 bus and equipment proposition to purchase seven large buses, three smaller buses, two wheelchair-accessible buses, and a tractor by a vote of 1445 (yes) and 624 (no) and elected three members to the Board of Education:

  • Teresa Gitto (1444 votes)
  • Gloria Towle-Hilt (1557 votes)
