Grades 10-12 Health Curriculum:

Given the fact most of our modern-day health problems represent poor decisions rather than medical failures, the primary goal of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge that they can intelligently use to ultimately live a lifetime of appreciating and attaining wellness.

  • Planning & Goal Setting

  • Stress Management

  • Advocacy

  • Relationship Management

The content in this course deals with knowledge – concepts, facts, generalizations and understanding, attitudes – values, appreciations, skills – communications advocacy, decision making, planning and goal setting and self management; in the areas of:           

1.      Introduction to Health & Wellness

2.      Mental/Emotional Health

3.   Respect and nonviolence

4.   Sexuality, which includes HIV/AIDS education and parenting

5.   Addiction

6.   Nutrition & Fitness
