Guilderland Central School District Health Education

PRIDE Survey Results

As we continue our drug education efforts in the Guilderland Central School District, we need to comply with the education mandates under the Safe and Drug Free Schools grant program which requires that we conduct an assessment about alcohol, drug use, and violence. The data assists us in assessing our efforts to educate students of the health and safety value of not using alcohol and drugs, and in finding non-violent solutions to issues such as bullying.

To gather this information, we have chosen to administer the PRIDE Questionnaire which has been used by schools in more than 8,000 school districts across the nation over the past two decades. It is a nationally field tested and research-based questionnaire. The results will be used for developing curriculum and staff training.

The PRIDE Questionnaire is administered annually to every 5th grade, 7th grade, and to all student in high school health classes and takes about fifteen minutes to complete.
