District Attorney David Soares delivers backpacks for students in need
Oct. 3, 2011—On Wednesday, Sept. 28, Albany County
District Attorney David Soares hand-delivered 25 backpacks filled with
school supplies to help needy students in the Guilderland Central School
District.
Working in partnership with Victory Church in Albany, Soares distributed 944
backpacks to schools and students throughout Albany County as part of the
"Enough" program--an anti-violence campaign. The backpacks were filled with
paper, notebooks, binders, colored pencils, glue sticks, and other assorted
school supplies.
During his visit to GCSD, Soares extended praise for Guilderland’s
commitment to safe and respectful schools for all students. The District
Attorney had attended the district's "Taking
a Stand event" event with John Halligan last May and could not
say enough about the program, our students, and the shared commitment in
Guilderland.
