Follow-up to Jan. 29 community conversation set for Feb. 4

Jan. 31, 2014—On Wednesday, January 29, nearly 50 Guilderland Central School District parents, students, staff and community members attended a community conversation to take a closer look at the district’s budget development process and to review a list of all potential changes and reductions under consideration for 2014-2015. The event was the community’s first opportunity to provide input and comments on the recommendations and to ask direct questions of the building and district leaders who have proposed those changes.

Unfortunately, the community conversation ran a bit longer than expected and attendees did not get a chance to participate in the planned "town hall" style question and answer period. After polling event attendees, it was determined that there was an interest among our participants to schedule a second community conversation to allow for this portion of the program.

The conversation will continue on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Guilderland High School Large Group Instruction (LGI) room. This event is open to all school community members--whether or not you attended the original event on January 29. You do not need to RSVP to attend.

Please note: The event on February 4 is a continuation of the event that began this past Wednesday. As such, district leaders will not be going through the PowerPoint presentation and small group handouts again next Tuesday. If you were not at the Jan. 29 community conversation, you can view all presentation materials and handouts as well as watch a replay of the event on our website.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on February 4!
