Oct. 10, 2013Guilderland Central School District has been ranked No. 5 in the Albany area in student performance in a report by Business First. In compiling the list of Capital Region school districts for 2013-14, Business First examined four years of data from the New York State Education Department, including Regents diploma and state testing data for grades 4-8. In some instances, data was weighted to reflect extraordinary achievement. Weighted factors were compared to other districts and included:

• Graduates who earned Advanced Regents diplomas;
• Superior scores on Regents exams (scores of 85 or above); and
• Number of students in grades 4 through 8 scoring a Level 4 on state assessments.

In addition, GCSD was ranked No. 18 out of the entire upstate region -- which included 429 districts in 48 upstate New York counties. View complete Upstate New York district rankings from Business First
