GCSD to host Spring Recycling Extravaganza on April 25

February 26, 2015—Guilderland Central School District will be hosting its 9th Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Farnsworth Middle School, 6072 State Farm Road in Guilderland. This is a community-wide event and is open to both residents and non-residents of the school district. Individuals are encouraged to bring their unwanted papers, metals, plastics (including bags), and bikes for free drop-off; all items will be re-used and/or recycled.*

What can be brought to the school for recycling on April 25?

County Waste/Waste Connections: Hard plastics (# 1-7's) View a list of acceptable items (PDF)

Capital City Rescue Mission: rags (please do not include any rags which are moldy, wet, or have been exposed to dangerous chemicals) view of list of acceptable items (PDF)

Grassroot Givers: clothing/linens/small household goods/books/unopened toiletries in "like-new" condition

GHS Key Club: deposit bottles

Hannaford: plastic bags

Troy Bike Rescue/Bikes For Humanity: bicycles, tricycles, scooters

Protek: electronics View a list of acceptable items (PDF)

T. A. Predel’s Paper and Metals Recycling: paper/metals View a list of acceptable items (PDF)

USCRI: furniture (only the following will be accepted--kitchen and dining room tables/chairs, end tables, lamps, dressers)

 

The collection site for the Recycling Extravaganza will be located in the rear parking lot of the school. For more information on the upcoming Recycling Extravaganza, please contact Renee Panetta, district recycling and conservation coordinator, at 518-861-5246, ext. 338.
