Guilderland Central School District to host Google Summit

April 24, 2015—Guilderland Central School District is pleased to announce that the high school will be hosting a Google Summit this weekend, April 25-26, 2015. The two-day, high-intensity EdTechTeam Capital Region Summit is geared towards classroom and special area teachers, technology coordinators, instructional technology staff and data analysts. The summit will focus on deploying, integrating and using Google Apps for Education (as well as other Google tools) to promote student learning.

The idea to host the summit came after several Guilderland administrators attended similar Google summits and returned invigorated with ideas for use in schools. Guilderland has integrated Google Apps for Education into their core processes since August 2013. “We want to be able to provide quality, professional development for teachers and we felt there was a lot of potential for that with an event like this. As we continue to move in the direction of using more [Google] apps and programs in our schools, this event is a great fit to coincide with our vision of technology,” said Natalia LeMoyne, the district’s Educational Technology Specialist.

The two days of professional development will be presented by Google certified teachers, Google Education Trainers and Google employees.
