District seeking parent volunteers for Smart Schools Investment Plan Advisory Committee

Dec. 11, 2015—The Guilderland Central School District is seeking parent volunteers to serve on the district’s Smart Schools Investment Plan (SSIP) Advisory Committee.

The Smart Schools Bond Act of 2014 was passed in the 2014-15 enacted New York state budget and approved by voters in a statewide referendum held during the 2014 general election. The Smart Schools allocation for the Guilderland Central School District is $2,096,732.
The purpose of this advisory committee is to provide feedback to the district as it develops a SMART Schools Investment Plan (SSIP) to describe how funds will be used. The developed plan will be submitted to the Board of Education for final approval before it is submitted to the State Education Review Board.

District leaders anticipate that the committee will meet three or four times total during the months of January and February. Parents interested in serving on this advisory committee should contact
Castilia Commisso by Wednesday, Dec. 23 via email at or by phone at 518-456-6200, ext. 3119.
