General Music Grading
We want to ensure success and confidence in all our students.
To achieve this, there is a need for a regular flow of information
between the teacher, parent, and student.
Grades are one form of communication.
Although we aim for growth in musical achievement, our evaluation
focuses on effort and attitude. We
believe that students who do their best and have a positive attitude will
always be successful in the middle school music program.
To
be sure that each student in grades 6-8 are learning, they will be
evaluated individually on his/her tonal skills, rhythm skills, vocal
skills, and on their effort / class participation.
Students are given aural and oral tests on the above.
Written tests are given on theory and cultural / historical
information. These grades are
used in computing the student’s average for the school’s Academic
Achievement Roster. |
