Introducing the FMS Study Skills Committee

What are we?

We are a committee made up of support staff, administrators and parents.  Our ultimate goal is to help students attain life-long skills which will make them better learners, problem solvers, and cooperative workers.  We hope to achieve our goal by offering learning and study tools to students, staff, and parents so that these skills can become assimilated into our students’ days; both in school and at home.

What do we have to offer?

We strive to bring information to students, staff, and parents by offering:

  • Useful tips

  • Reproducible templates to use for test reviews or research

  • Books and tapes that address learning and study skills (check out the display in the Learning Center!)

  • Presentations/speakers

  • Lesson plan ideas

 How do we communicate?

 Through:

  • Monthly meetings (open to anyone)

  • FMS homepage (for families)

  • FMS Intranet (for staff)

The co-chairs of the Study Skills committee for the 2004-2005 school year are Charlie Gifford and Judy Carnavos.
