Al Fiero did a presentation on Inspiration.
Staff present learned how to make their own
graphic organizer for a topic of their choice.
Student work was shared.
Also, we all had a chance to look at the
templates provided that come as part of the program.
Templates for graphic organizers are included
for language arts (all sorts of writing assignments),
social studies (DBQ, etc) and science (lab reports). The program is available in all computer labs.
Martha Brew and Denise Fields assisted.
Martha is very knowledgeable about this program
and has offered in-service courses.
The
program can be used for pre-writing and can really
help students organize thoughts and ideas before they
begin a writing piece.
It can also be used for concept mapping (Al
uses it with his students for this purpose).
A big thank you to Al Fiero for doing this for
our committee.
Reminder:
Next Meeting is Friday, Feb. 4 at 8 am in the
Auxilliary Conference Room.
We
will discuss:
One Stop School Shop, our webpage, our display
that needs to be set up in the LC, the parent paper
posse, and teacher resource funding.
