FMS Study Skills
Committee
Minutes: March 11, 2005
Present: Judy Carnavos,

1. Meeting dates are: No
April meeting
May 13 @ 8 am MOCR
June 10 @ 8am MOCR
2. We discussed the new company schoolpop.
They have bought the onestopschoolshop company.
Prices are better and this is still the only company
to offer this valuable, organized service (includes
color coding emphasis, team list service, delivery to
homes). With the change in company, many questions
were raised regarding supply lists and how they will
be entered or updated. Charlie will bring all
questions to our sales rep and get back to us.

Susan arranged the Study Skills display in the
Learning Center. A few new titles will be added due
to some monies provided by the Learning Center.

4.
We have received and approved one more teacher
request for Study Skills monies (up to $15). The
pink applications are in the house offices.
Five teachers have been approved so far. Please
consider applying if you have found something that
would help your students organize.
5. Dan Chouiniere has done a
great job updating our Study Skills link for us.

6. Susan shared a copy of "How to get better
grades". We quickly reviewed it and Susan will get a
teacher version to preview. We will consider a
purchase (for faculty) at the next meeting.
7. Judy will ask counselors to identify students who
may be in need of assistance purchasing school
supplies for next year. We will again provide a small
package of supplies.
