Monthly Meeting Minutes

Minutes:  November 5, 2004

Present:  Judy Carnavos, Susan Rothchild, Lauren Linkowski,  Lisa Asher, Heather Bryer, Stacy Spawn, Patty Hill, Helen Qulia, Lisa Mahoney .

 

  1. Meeting dates are:   December 17 @ 8am Room 354  (change of date)

January 14 @ 8am  Computer lab

February 4 @ 8 am MOCR

March 11 @ 8am MOCR

No April meeting

May 13 @ 8 am MOCR

June 10 @ 8am MOCR 

  1. 84 faculty members have taken advantage of the wall charts we purchased for classroom use.    Please see Charlie in room 354 if you’d like one(don't forget to sign your name when you take one.) 
  1. The GCRTC is offering a 15 hour program on study skills.  It is a NYSUT ETP course and is being taught by Susan LaFond from GHS.  The dates are Saturdays, March 5, 18 and April 9 from 8:30-2 pm at Sand Creek MS. 
  1. Two teachers have volunteered their 6th graders to work with Lisa Mahoney and the Parent Paper Posse.  This group of parents works with students to organize/clean out their lockers, binders, etc.
  1. Helen Qulia has volunteered to help set up our Study Skills display in the Learning Center.  If any staff knows of great resources for study skills, please let us know.  We hope to add to our display this year.  We will soon get out a list of titles, for staff.

6.  Charlie Gifford will be e-mailing quick, useful Study Skills tips 2x/month to all staff. 

  1. The application for study skills money (max = $15) is ready.  An application will be in faculty mailboxes soon.  Details are on the application/request form.
  1. Lisa Mahoney reported that we made $1,269 from One Stop School Shop.  We have not yet received the check.
  1. Dan Chouniere has agreed to help us to update the Study Skills page on the school website.  A big thank you to Dan!

Next meeting is Dec. 17 @ 8am in Room 354.  All are welcome!
