Following the mandates of NO CHILD LEFT
BEHIND, New York State tests all third, fourth and fifth
graders in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. The
ELA tests will be administered statewide the week of January
12th and the MATH will be given the week of March 2nd. In
addition the 5th grade Social test will be given on November
12th and 13th.
In case you are scheduling doctors’
appointments or vacations for your third, fourth or fifth
graders, we strongly request that you do not schedule them
on November 12th and 13th or for the week of January 12th or
March 2nd. It is very important that your child, unless s/he
is ill, attend school during those weeks and participate in
these NYS Tests.
More information will be provided in the
fall, but we wanted to get the dates to the early planners
to avoid conflicts. If you would like to discuss this
further, please call Principal Allan Lockwood at 869-0293 or
email at
lockwooda@guilderlandschools.org.
