PHILOSOPHY

     Motor learning is best nurtured in an environment rich with diverse opportunities for direct movement experiences.  The primary responsibility of the Elementary Physical Education program in the Guilderland Central School  District is to provide carefully planned diverse experiences so that children can:

• Gain a basic understanding of how their physical bodies move and become physically fit

• Learn movement choices

• Adapt planned efficient movement to daily living

• Begin to apply basic concepts of movement to individual sport units

8 Fifth-grade Running Club

On Friday, September 19, 2008, members of the Guilderland High School Cross Country Team joined members of the GES 5th Grade Running Club for a run at Tawasentha Park.
