Who can join FBLA? |
|
Any high school student in
grades 9–12 who has an interest in business or is
taking a business course. See

Welch
teacher for more information. |

What is it? |
|
FBLA is a national leadership
organization. In fact, it’s international! Young
people are encouraged to develop the skills needed
to be successful business leaders and productive
citizens. |
|
How do we accomplish this goal? |
Students participate in
democratic elections and learn how to set and
accomplish goals. Students also compete in many
academic areas such as Economics, Accounting,
Business Law, and Business Communications.
Individuals are also able to complete in things like
Public Speaking, Job Interview, and Web Page Design.
There are also Chapter competitions that demonstrate
that all important skill…TEAMWORK. |

Where and how often are these competitions? |
The Fall District Meeting is
held in October at Mildred Elly Business Institute
in Latham, while the Spring District Meeting is held
in February at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.
The State Leadership Conference is held in April and
is attended by almost 2,000 students from around New
York State. This conference has been held at various
locations within New York State. |
