Grading Policy

Participation is 60% of your grade.  Being changed into appropriate clothing and being there on time means your ready to earn your grade for that day!  Everyday in class students are graded on participation using a rubric from 0 through 3.  This is 3% of the student’s grade final grade per day.

·        3 for the day means the student has met or exceeded class expectations with exceptional participation.

·        2 for the day means the student has participated with good effort and participation with inconsistencies in effort and/or participation.

·        1 for the day means the student has participated with low effort and/or participation.

·        0 for the day means the student has no effort or participation. (Ex. Being unprepared)

Knowledge and/or Skill are 40% of your grade.  Each teacher will choose the percentage to assign to knowledge and skill assessment.  The activities usually help determine the percentages.  Homework, quizzes, classroom assessment and projects are a few of the methods for determining your knowledge and/or skill grade.

Make Ups for being absent and unprepared is done on an individual basis with the teacher.  If a student is they must make contact with their teacher as soon as they return to school.  The absence must be made up during that specific unit that the student was absent from.  Grading for a make up is the same as a regular class (3 points max.).  Grading for a make up of an unprepared is a maximum of half the regular credit (1.5 points max.).
