Students participate in a variety of units throughout the year. The unit categories the students experience are team and personal performance. The curriculum is knowledge based for the students to utilize as future adult consumers. Through the year components of fitness are taught and reinforced to provide the students with information to make healthy lifestyle choices. Twice a year the students participate in a personal fitness assessment for an opportunity to see the results of their current life style choices.

FOCUS Physical Education
This year-long program is provided for those students accepted into the focus program going into their junior year. The students are provided with a non-traditional approach that promotes team building and trust in themselves and each other. The foundation of the program is adventure activities that include co-operative games, initiatives, problem solving, belaying and climbing.

CDOS Physical Education
The CDOS program is provided for students with special needs. The focus of this class is to provide cardiovascular participation while integrating a modified high school curriculum. Within the units students continue to build on and reinforce concepts explored in their earlier education. Areas such as gross and fine locomotor movements, hand eye co-ordination, foot eye co-ordination, timing, reaction time, leverage and fitness concepts are progressively utilized throughout the year. Many of the high school units are modified to provide a safe learning environment.

Special Needs Physical Education
Students are provided with a variety of short activity units whose primary purposes are to provide ongoing individual opportunities for participating in and enjoying lifetime activities which help to develop and maintain physical wellness.
