January 2008
Counselors will meet in a small group to develop a tentative plan for 12th grade.

February 4, 2008 - 7PM
"How to Choose a College" - This is an evening program with an Admissions Director from a local college who will discuss the Dos and Don'ts of finding the right college. This program is for both students and parents.

February - April 2008
Individual Parent & Student Conferences - Counselors will meet with each student and their family to review the 12th grade program and graduation requirements and to develop post high school plans.

February 18 - 22, 2008
Winter Break - This is a great time for students and families to schedule college visitations.

February 28, 2008 - 7PM
College Planning Night Program - An evening program with local college representatives who will present on admission requirements and financial aid. This program is for students and parents.

April 14 - 18, 2008
Spring Break - This is a great time for students and families to schedule college visitations. Remember to call the college's administrations office to schedule an appointment for a tour/visit.April/May 2008 Hudson-Mohawk College Fair at HVCC.

Dates and events for Sophomores

October PLAN testing information will be mailed home
October 29, 2008 PLAN Registration ends in the Counseling Center
November 8, 2008 PLAN Test from 8AM-11AM
December 9-12, 2008 Career and College Center Exploration Activity - CHOICES
January 2009 Program planning for 11th graders
June 6, 2009 SAT Subject Tests (if necessary)

Dates and events for Freshman

September 8, 2008
9th Grade Parent Night Program - An opportunity for parents to be introduced to the high school and its programs.

Early Fall 2008
Club Fair - During an Advisory Block, student will have an opportunity to learn about extracurricular activities as well as sign up to participate in these activities.

October - December 2008
"Getting To Know You" Group Meetings

February 3 - 6, 2009
Group Program Counseling - Counselors will meet in small groups to develop a tentative program for 10th grade.

April - May 2009
Individual Parent Conferences - Counselors will meet with each student and their families.
