GHS International Club presents 2017 Cultural Fair
April 7, 2017—On Thursday, April 6, the Guilderland High School International Club hosted its annual Cultural Fair. Nearly 350 students participated in the event, which represented over 50 countries set up as stations throughout the gym. In addition to individual displays, students performed cultural dances and shared ethnic food and there were items for sale by donation. Nearly the entire high school visited the fair at some point throughout the day. The high school also welcomed third graders from Altamont and Lynnwood elementary schools.
International Club Advisors Meghan Tidd and Taylor DeThorne said, "the2017 Cultural Fair was a true success thanks to the hard work of the International Club members along with all of the students, staff and community members who participated in the event. The fair provided a wonderful opportunity to highlight the many cultures that make up our district. We truly believe that there is strength in our differences, and that by celebrating our cultures, we can unite to make positive changes in our district, community and the world at large. "
