Physical Education

During the four years of physical education at the high school, students have the opportunity to participate in activities.  These activities are centered around life-time fitness, cooperative concepts and gaining the necessary knowledge to make healthy choices.

Over the course of four years, each student will complete 8 mandated activities. The following activities are designed to offer students a wide variety of team and individual concepts: volleyball, basketball, cooperative games, weight training, fitness, badminton, softball and cardio walking.

In addition to these activities, students have the ability to choose additional traditional and non-traditional activities to compliment the mandated activities.

In order to successfully complete each semester, students will be assessed on active participation and content knowledge of each unit.  Students will also complete physical fitness testing twice a year to determine their current level of fitness in flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance and body composition (height, weight, BMI).  Student assessment results for physical fitness testing may be found on a students profile page in SchoolTool.
