Traffic congestion to be alleviated by new paved lane in front of school
Dec. 12, 2011—Many
of you may have noticed the new paved lane in the grassy area in front of
Lynnwood Elementary. This comes as a result of a study done to help
alleviate traffic congestion in our parking lot and to help facilitate a
smooth flow of cars and buses in the morning.
Once again, we would like again to encourage all of our parents to allow
their child(ren) to ride the district transportation provided for them.
However, when an unexpected delay causes you to have to drive your child in
to school in the morning—we would like you to adhere to the following
guidelines:
• After turning onto Regina Drive, make a right at the top of our parking lot and whenever possible, park your car and walk your child in to school. If a drop off is absolutely necessary, proceed down towards school using the road between the grass and the parking lot.
• Make a left on to the newly paved bypass lane. You can drop off your child there ONLY WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT CROSSING GUARD PRESENT. OTHERWISE, PLEASE PARK IN THE LOT AND WALK YOUR CHILD INTO SCHOOL. (There will only be a crossing guard present from 7:45 to 8:00 a.m. every day.)
• VEHICLES WILL NO LONGER BE ALLOWED TO PULL UP TO THE FRONT CURB OF SCHOOL FOR DROP OFF WHATSOEVER.
We are always striving to improve our school and make it a secure and safe place for our students to learn. If you have any concerns/comments about the new drop off procedure, please feel free to contact the Lynnwood Elementary School Main Office at 355-7930.
