Helping to prevent the spread of illness
On Thursday, December 18, an unusually high number of students were absent from school due to symptoms related to headache, fever, and/or stomach bug. In addition, more than a dozen students were sent home throughout the day with similar symptoms. Read more in a letter from Principal Christopher Sanita The district has been in contact with the Albany County Department of Health as well as the school physician. Custodial staff will be extra diligent with their cleaning procedures throughout the school building. In addition, parents can help prevent the spread of illness by reminding their child of the importance of hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and disposing of dirty tissues. Remember, hand washing is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of germs.
