2009-10 School Supply List

 

2009-10 grade level supply lists

 

Below is a list of common school supplies needed for each particular grade level. With the August placement letter, parents will receive information about any additional items that your child's teacher may request. Please note that this is only the basic list of supplies.

 

Kindergarten  *Please do not label these items unless otherwise noted. We will be learning to share this year!

3 or more glue sticks
1 bottle Elmer’s liquid glue
1 box of 24 Crayola crayons
1 box of thick Crayola Washable Markers
1 box of thin Crayola Washable Markers
2 boxes of Ticonderoga pencils
3 boxes of tissues
4 folders with horizontal pockets: 1 blue, 1 red, 1 green, and 1 yellow
1 small package of baby wipes
Zipper-lock baggies (1 gallon, 1 quart size)

Please label these items with your child’s name:
1 three ring binder
1 take-home folder of your choice
1 Art Smock (No aprons or vinyl, dad’s old button up shirt works great!)
3 current photos of your child (4x6 or smaller) - These will not be returned
1 beach towel or small blanket
1 back pack large enough to hold a lunch box and school supplies. Please, no rolling backpacks.
1 change of clothes (please include a shirt, pants, underwear, and socks and be sure your child’s name is written on all clothing)

Grade 1

1 2-pocket durable plastic folder (to be used each day as a take home folder)
2 boxes of tissues
1 box of Ziploc baggies (sandwich or gallon size)
2 boxes of pencils (plain yellow and sharpened)
1 box of Crayola markers (thick)
1 box of Crayola markers (thin)
1 box 24 crayons
1 box of colored pencils (sharpened)
6 regular size glue sticks
1 bottle of Elmer’s glue
1 art smock (long sleeve oversized old shirt)
1 pair of child size scissors

*We share all supplies in first grade, so there is no need to label anything with exception of the art smock and take home folder.

Grade 2 3 packages of Ticonderoga brand #2 pencils (sharpened please)
4 rectangular “chunky” erasers
1 box Crayola crayons (24 count)
1package of colored pencils
2 packages of Elmer’s glue sticks
2 boxes of tissues
2 packages of Post-It-Notes
1 pair Fiskar scissors
1 Marble composition notebook
4 bottom feed pocket folders (1 green, 1 blue, 1 red, 1 yellow)…no names please
1 “take home” folder
1 art smock (labeled)

*We share all supplies, so please do not label anything except the art smock and take home folder. Thank you!

2 marble composition notebooks
1 package of 24 count yellow #2 pencils
1 pencil eraser
1 package of 24 count crayons
1 package of thin colored markers
1 package of thick colored markers
1 highlighter
1 pair of Fiskar scissors
4 large glue sticks
1 box of Kleenex
$5.50 cash for Time for Kids and Around the World Magazines
Sneakers are needed for PE classes
Art smock is needed for Art class

Grade 4

3 boxes of 24 count pencils
1 package of blue or black pens
1 box of markers
1 box of crayons or colored pencils
5 large glue sticks
1 pair of scissors
2 boxes of tissues
5 bottom-pocket folders in solid colors: 1 of each (blue, red, yellow, green, purple)
1 bottom-pocket folder of any design for homework use
3 hard-cover black and white marble composition notebooks (wide-ruled, not graph)
1 package of 3x5 index cards
1 clipboard
1 package of post-it notes
Ziplock baggies:
     Boys: 1 small box of gallon-sized baggies
     Girls: 1 small box of quart-sized baggies
$4.50 for year-long Time For Kids Magazine subscription, cash or check (made payable to Westmere Elementary School)

*Please note: Do not send trapper-keepers or wheelie backpacks. Lockers are very thin and do not fit such items.

Grade 5 Math
• Any color spiral notebook with 150 pages or more
• 1 yellow two pocket folder

Language Arts
• 3 composition notebooks
• 2 two pocket folders of your choice (heavy-duty)

Social Studies & Science
• 1 green two pocket folder
• 1 red two pocket folder

General Supplies
• Box of thin markers
• Box of thick markers
• Box of colored pencils
• 3 boxes of Dixon Ticonderoga pencils
• 3 large glue sticks
• 1 pair of scissors
• 2 packages of 3 by 3 Post-it Notes
• 1 heavy-duty homework folder
• 1 pack of loose-leaf paper 3 hole punched
• 2 packages of 3 by 3 Post-it Notes

Other
• 2 boxes of tissue
• 1 bottle of Purell hand sanitizer
• 1 container of Clorox wipes
• 1 package of Ziploc bags (boys bring in gallon size and girls bring in quart size)

**Please make sure to label each item with your name, grade, and teacher.**
