GES 2018-19 School Supply Lists

Want to get a jump-start on back-to-school supplies?

Listed are the common supplies needed for each grade level. With the August placement letter, parents will receive this list and information about any additional items that your child’s teacher may request. Please note that this is only the basic list of supplies

Gr. 1 | Gr. 2 | Gr. 3 | Gr. 4 | Gr. 5

Kindergarten

  • (1) large backpack
  • (1) package fat washable markers (primary colors)
  • (1) package thin washable markers (primary colors)
  • (1) two pocket folder
  • (6) glue sticks
  • (1) small, quick, healthy snack each day
  • (1) art smock (oversized t-shirt)
  • (20) pre-sharpened #2 Ticonderoga yellow pencils
  • (1) box of tissues

Grade One

  • (20) pre-sharpened #2 ​Ticonderoga​ yellow pencils
  • (4) two-pocket folders (red, blue, yellow, green)
  • (1) two-pocket folder (your choice)
  • (1) ​non-rolling​ backpack
  • Sneakers (that can be independently fastened [Velcro or ties]) for Physical Education/playground use
  • (1) small healthy snack each day
  • (1) art smock (oversized t-shirt)
  • (1) box tissues in September (additional box collected mid-year)
  • (1) box of 24-count Crayola crayons
  • (6) glue sticks

Grade Two

  • (1) box of 24 crayons
  • (4) packages Ticonderoga #2 pencils (a few sharpened)
  • (1) package colored pencils
  • (1) large eraser
  • (4) glue sticks
  • (1) package of 8-count thin ​Crayola​ washable markers (BOYS)
  • (1) package of 8-count thick ​Crayola​ washable markers (GIRLS)
  • (2) packages 3×3 Post-it Notes (​not​ super-sticky kind)
  • (1) art smock (an old, large shirt is fine)
  • (2) boxes of tissues
  • (5) pocket folders – yellow, green, red, blue, and black home folder of your choice
  • (1) plastic fun folder (take-home folder)
  • (5) composition notebooks
  • (1) pair of scissors (Fiskar or Westcott preferred)
  • Sneakers for Physical Education/playground

Grade Three

  • (6) bottom pocket folders (red, blue, yellow, green, plus two others of your choice)
  • (4) packages of sharpened pencils
  • (2) large glue sticks
  • (5) marble composition notebooks
  • (3) packages 3×3 Post-it Notes (​not​ super-sticky kind)
  • (1) smock (an old large shirt is fine)
  • (1) package of colored pencils (sharpened)
  • (2) boxes of tissues
  • (1) set of headphones in a labeled baggie (to use with computers)
  • Sneakers for Physical Education/playground

Grade Four

  • (5) dozen pencils – Ticonderoga preferred
  • (4) marble composition notebooks
  • (1) 2-inch binder with clear plastic pocket on cover
  • (1) three-hole sturdy poly pocket folder
  • (1) box gallon-sized plastic bags
  • (1) spiral notebook
  • (2) glue sticks
  • (1) box of tissues to share with the class
  • (6) solid colored 2-pocket folders (red, blue, green, yellow, orange and purple)
  • (1) fun folder of choice (sturdy to withstand the year) (or accordion file for homework and mail)
  • (5) packages Post-it-Notes (preferably lined and ​not​ super-sticky kind) – to be ​replenished
  • (2) packages of pencil top erasers
  • (1) sturdy, reusable shopping bag or tote bag labeled with name and teacher
  • (1) smock for Art
  • (1) package dry-erase markers
  • (1) package skinny markers
  • (1) package regular markers
  • (1) pair earbuds in a plastic bag with name
  • (1) clipboard

Grade Five

  • (2) dozen pencils; Ticonderoga preferred (to be replenished)
  • (3) black and white marble composition notebooks (reading, writing, word study)
  • (3) spiral notebooks in red (Science), yellow (Math) and green (Social Studies
  • (5) two pocket (bottom) folders in blue (Writing), green (Social Studies), yellow (Math), orange (Word Study) and purple (Reading)
  • (1) two pocket folder – any design, for take-home folder
  • (1) packages loose leaf paper
  • (1) package glue sticks ( at least four in a pack)
  • (4) packages 3×3 Post-it Notes ( to be replenished)
  • (1) box markers
  • (1) box skinny-tip markers
  • (2) boxes of tissues
  • (1) clipboard
  • (1) pair of earbuds or headphones in plastic bag with name

All third, fourth and fifth-grade students need to have a recorder for music class. Recorders should be purchased online at johnkealmusic.com.
