Camp Invention Goes Virtual This Summer for Grades 1-6

Update: July 2, 2020

Camp Invention Guilderland has converted its program to a virtual model called Camp Invention Connect. While the camp will no longer be on site at Farnsworth Middle School, it will be the same engaging, hands-on activities with limited screen time during the week of August 10-14.

The Camp Invention team has put together a one-of-a-kind program. To bring the all-new Elevate curriculum to life, each camper will receive a set of four activity kits packed with awesome, hands-on materials, including robots! In fact, campers will end up with even more materials than they’d typically bring home from camp.

This program emphasizes opportunities to get outside and be active. This will not be a week of sitting at a screen — it will be a week of action, invention and fun! Camp Invention Connect requires very little involvement from parents, and it can be either screen-free and self-led OR involve minimal screen time for virtual instruction and collaboration sessions with a certified teacher.

In partnership with Invent Now, Guilderland Central School District is proud to once again offer the nationally-acclaimed Camp Invention program this summer from August 10-14, 2020 at Farnsworth Middle School.

The week-long adventure is open to children in grades 1-6.  Camp Invention is a program where students learn science, technology, engineering and math in a weeklong experience that taps into the spirit of innovation.

Katie McNally, a mathematics teacher at Farnsworth Middle School, will be acting as the program’s director for the fourth year in a row:

“We had such an exciting Camp Invention last summer. Every summer is better than the last, and this summer will be no exception! There will be robots, superheroes, and more. Don’t miss out!”

Every year the Camp Invention curriculum changes, keeping activities fresh and fun. To learn more about what’s on deck for the summer ahead and to register, visit Register on or before March 20, 2020 to receive an early bird discount. Availability is limited, so secure your child’s spot today.
