FMS is currently accepting donations for two worthy causes — the annual FMS Coat Drive and HATSGIVING.
The GHS Sources of Strength Club is also collecting hats for HATSGIVING.
FMS Coat drive
A school-wide collection of gently-used coats are being collected to needy men, women and children in the Capital District. Drop boxes are located in middle school house offices and in reception. Please note: Coats must be clean and have working zippers.
Donations being accepted through Nov. 30.
Hatsgiving, a project to collect soft, warm winter hats for pediatric cancer patients, has begun at FMS. If you’d like to donate to the project, please bring a new (store-bought or handmade) child sized winter hat to FMS before Thanksgiving break, by Nov. 20. The Seneca 6F Team has placed collection bins in the house offices. Hats will be distributed to Children’s Hospital at Albany Med and other pediatric hospitals after Thanksgiving.

GHS Sources of Strength HATSGIVING
Sources of Strength (with their promotion of generosity) will be collecting new or homemade hats through Nov. 20. The hats collected will be donated to pediatric cancer treatments centers around the country. Since children of all ages may be diagnosed with cancer, donated hats may be newborn to adult size, to fit the tiniest patients up to teens. So, almost any size winter hat will work.
