Dear Pine Bush Families,
Towards the end of the school day on Wednesday, Feb. 10, just before students were to be picked up, a fire alarm went off at Pine Bush Elementary School. The school safety plan was activated and all students and staff were immediately evacuated from the building. The Guilderland Fire Department determined that dust in a smoke detector was what caused the alarm to go off and cleared the building for re-entry.
Students were outside for approximately 15 minutes. Because we were unsure how long students were going to be outside, school buses were called onsite, and although no students had to get on a bus, there might be a delay in buses dropping students off.
We take our responsibility to keep our school community safe very seriously.
