An official happy spring to all Lynnwood families! It has certainly been a long winter but signs are all around us that the warmer weather will soon be here. I want to thank everyone for a wonderful welcome to Lynnwood since I arrived a few weeks ago. I am so impressed with all that I have seen throughout the school, be it in classrooms or daily interactions between staff and students.

Kindergarten Registration for 2019/2010 School Year
We are currently registering incoming Kindergarten students for next fall. If you have not yet registered your child, please contact Mary in the main office at 518-355-7930 for further instruction.
English Language Arts and Math Assessments
Students in grades 3-5 will be taking the ELA assessment on Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4. This year most students will be using the chrome books for this purpose and have received instruction in this area. Math assessments will be given on Wednesday May 1st and Thursday, May 2nd. Teachers will be working with students to insure they are well prepared. Every effort is made to keep the atmosphere positive throughout this period of time to reduce any worry that students may experience. Please make every effort to have students on time those days
The Lynnwood Elementary Handbook was recently updated and one of the most critical parts of this publication is our visitor policy. It is our goal to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere as we know who is in the building at all times. All visitors must sign in with the main office upon entry to the building and be given a visitor badge/sticker. Please be sure that the sticker is visible. We appreciate your support.
Spring has sprung the grass is growing one less worry as it’s stopped snowing! Please remember that while the earth is awakening so are the ticks, preventative measures are worth taking!
Additionally, viruses still abound as well as Strep, so watch for symptoms and follow the sick rules for the kids. When you keep them home write a note, email or call and this will truly help us all.
Guilderland Elks Dictionary Delivery
A special thank you goes out to the Guilderland Elks for their generosity in providing our third grade students with new dictionaries and drug awareness pencils on March 18. We appreciate your thoughtful donation.
