A message from Dr. Wiles:
Dear GCSD Families,
Despite balmy temperatures this past weekend, tomorrow’s forecast calls for inclement weather, making this a good time to remind families of the Guilderland Central School District’s closing and delays procedures. Schools will be closed when snow or poor road conditions make travel difficult or impossible. School closings, delayed openings and early dismissals resulting from weather conditions will be posted on the homepage of the district website and communicated via SchoolMessenger. Additional information about closings and delays can be found on the district website.
School-Related Professionals Recognition Day
Today is School-Related Professionals Recognition Day, a well-deserved honor for the professionals who are essential to the safe and successful operation of our seven school buildings. I would like to acknowledge all of GCSD’s school-related professionals: teaching assistants, aides, monitors, nurses and maintenance, buildings and grounds, transportation, food service and clerical staff. Thank you for your dedication and hardwork!
Board of Education Meeting Tonight, 7:00 p.m.
There will be a regular meeting of the board of education tonight at 7:00 p.m. This meeting will be held in the Large Group Instruction room of Guilderland High School and is open to the public. The meeting will also be live-streamed and can be viewed on the GHS Media YouTube channel. The agenda for the meeting can be accessed here.
School budget ThoughtExchange
Please join the 2023-34 school budget ThoughtExchange. This online forum provides GCSD families, students, staff and community members with the opportunity to share priorities for the upcoming school year budget. The ThoughtExchange will be open until 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23. By taking part, you can share your thoughts and rate the thoughts of others, providing critical input to the budget development process.
Please note, all seven GCSD school buildings will be closed for Thanksgiving recess, Nov. 23-25; the district offices will be closed Nov. 24-25.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Marie Wiles, Ph.D.
Superintendent
