PBES supply lists for 2023-24

School supply lists, by grade, for the 2023-24 school year at Pine Bush Elementary School can be found below.

  • Listed are the common supplies need for each grade level.
  • With the August placement letter, parents will receive this list and information about any additional items your child’s teacher may request.
  • Please note this is only the basic list of supplies.

Kindergarten | Grade 1 | Grade 2 | Grade 3 | Grade 4 | Grade 5


Kindergarten

  • Backpack: You will be carrying this to and from school  every day. Please keep  in mind that the backpack needs to it a folder, your lunch, and a snack.
  • 5 – Heavy Duty Two-Pocket Folders – ( 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue and 2 of your choice) One folder will go back and forth  between school and home  every day.  This is for all notes, letters and announcements that the parents and I will be sending to each other.  A parent should check this every day.
  • 2 boxes of Thick washable Markers
  • Thin washable Markers
  • 1 pair child scissors
  • 2 boxes of Pencils (Ticonderoga Preferred and pre-sharpened  if possible)
  •  2  box of Crayons (24 count)
  • 12 Glue Sticks
  • 1 pair of Earphones (earbuds tend to fall out)
  • 1 box of Kleenex
  • 1 pack of Baby Wipes
  • Sandwich Size Ziploc Bags
  • Art Smock – The most effective and easiest to put on  is an adult’s old shirt!
  • Clothes – Please send in an extra pair of clothes  (shirt, pants, underwear and socks).  Put  clothes in a Ziploc plastic bag with your child’s name on it.
  • Family Picture – A picture of your family to leave  in school.  It’s always nice  to be able to see a picture of the people that we love!
  • Water Bottle – Labeled with your child’s name on it.  (No glass.)
  • 1 inch white binder
  • In addition to lunch, we will be eating a snack.  Please remember to bring a small,  quick and healthy snack.  Crackers, fruit or vegetables are always good ideas.
  • Additional supplies may be requested by individual teachers in August. 

First Grade

Individual Supplies

  • 4 plain colored folders: 1 green, 1 blue, 1 red, 1 yellow 
  • 1 sturdy take-home folder
  • 1 regular-size pencil box (8”x5”)
  • 24 count Crayola crayons 
  • 1 box of thick markers (8 color pack)
  • 1 box of colored pencils (12 colors)
  • 1 dry erase marker (any dark color)
  • 5” kids blunt end scissors
  • 2 Pink Pearl erasers
  • 1 Art smock (oversized t-shirt works best)
  • 1 pair sturdy headphones (no earbuds)
  • 1 water bottle (spill proof)
  • 1 regular-sized backpack 

Community Supplies(These will be collected.) 

  •  1 box of tissues
  • 1 box sharpened pencils (Ticonderoga brand)
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 1 box pencil top erasers 
 **Additional supplies may be requested by individual teachers in August. 

Second Grade

  • 24 Ticonderoga® pencils (please sharpen ahead of time)
  • 1 pack of pencil cap erasers or 1 pack of pink erasers
  • 2 boxes of 24 count crayons
  • 1 pack thin markers
  • 1 pack thick markers
  • 1 thick yellow highlighter
  • 8 glue sticks
  • 1 pair of Fiskars® scissors
  • Small pencil box or zippered pouch (approximately 6 x 8 inches, no bigger)
  • 4 PLASTIC bottom pocket folders (1 red, 1 yellow,  1 blue, 1 green)
  • 1 durable take home folder (any size, any color)
  • 1 marble composition notebooks (wide rule)
  • 1 pair of headphones (no ear buds, please)
  • 1 box tissues
  • 1 box of sandwich sized Ziplock bags (girls)
  • 1 box of gallon sized Ziplock bags (boys) 

Third Grade

  •  24 pack sharpened Ticonderoga Pencils
  • 4 pack glue sticks
  • 4 pack of lined Post It notes
  • 2 wide-ruled marble notebooks
  • Straight-jack headphones
  • 1-Blue 2 pocket folder
  • 1-Yellow 2 pocket folder
  • 1-Red 2 pocket folder
  • 1 sturdy take home folder
  • 1 or 2 boxes of tissues
  • INSIDE a pencil box or pouch, please supply:
    • 1 pair of scissors
    • 1 pack of colored pencils OR crayons
    • 1 pack 8 count markers 
Please have the folders, pencil box, scissors and earbuds labeled  with your child’s name on them. 
We will share some of the supplies sent in. 
All third grade students need to have a recorder for music class. Recorders can be purchased online at johnkealmusic.com. When you check out, be sure to select “Free School Delivery,” and select your district, school, and list your student’s first and last name. Your recorder will be shipped to PBE at no cost. Please be sure to purchase the Lauren Translucent Recorder. You are also welcome to order your recorder from other sites, as long as you order a soprano recorder. Anyone with financial needs should contact Ms. Dineen via email.

Fourth Grade

  • 2 – Large boxes of tissues
  • 1 – pack of paper towels
  • (1) pair of scissors w/child’s name
  • (3) packs of 12 #2 Ticonderoga pencils
  • (1) glue stick
  • (1) highlighter
  • (1) Sharpie “extra fine” (black)
  • (2) black and white composition notebooks
  • (2) pocket folders (student choice-please label)
  • (3) whiteboard markers (pencil style-thin-different colors)
  • (1) pair of headphones in a gallon size bag labeled with your child’s name-No earbuds  please
  • (1) box of 12 coloring materials (markers and/or colored pencils)
  • (2) 1 subject spiral notebooks 
 **Individual teacher lists will be sent home in August and may vary. Please wait to  purchase your supplies until the list from your child’s teacher arrives. 

Fifth Grade

  • 2 – Large boxes of tissues
  • 1 – Marble composition notebook
  • 4 – Pocket folders (blue, red, yellow, any color/design – take home folder)
  • 1 – pack of paper towels
  • 1 – pair of scissors labeled with child’s name
  • 1 – 3-pk. of glue sticks
  • 4-6 – Packages of 3×3 Post-It notes (or 1 multi-pack)
  • 3 – packs of #2 Ticonderoga pencils
  • 1 – pack of whiteboard markers (dry-erase)  highlighters
  • Small pencil box/bag
  • Headphones in a gallon sized plastic bag labeled with child’s name (no earbuds, please)
  • Spiral bound sketch book for art class (approximate size 9×11) 
 **Individual teacher lists will be sent home in August and may vary.   There may be some  additional items on your individual teacher’s list.
