Seven GHS students rank nationally in French Competition

Seven Guilderland High School French students ranked nationally in the Le Grand Concours.  The annual event is a national competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.  

Students were evaluated for their written, oral and listening comprehension skills.  Across the country, more than 17,000 ninth grade students competed in the 2019 event. 

Congratulations to the following GHS students:

  • Michael Cheng and Grace Wei earned gold medals;
  • Abhishikth Nadella and Tianlia Qu earned silver medals;
  • Meghana Bhupati, Ansh Garg and Sareena Gurung earned bronze medals;
  • Nora Ebersman, Chelsea King, Emily Ravalli and Sophia Renaud received Honorable Mentions.

A job well-done to our students and their French teacher Lauren Anderson. Students received gift cards to Dunkin Donuts for their excellent work!
