Purpose of the meeting is to interview candidates to fill vacancy
On Tues., Sept. 24, at 6 p.m., the Guilderland Central School District will hold a special board of education meeting to interview candidates to fill a vacancy. The vacant seat was previously held by Judy Slack, who recently retired. New York State law allows school boards to fill such vacancies by appointment until the next regular election in May.
The candidate interviews will be moderated by two Guilderland High School students; there are four candidates for the board’s consideration.
The meeting will be held in the Large Group Instruction (LGI) room at GHS and is open to the public. The meeting will be livestreamed on the GHS Media YouTube channel and will be recorded.
The successful candidate is expected to be appointed to the board at the Oct. 1 meeting.
