Transition to the high school: Eighth-graders to visit GHS on April 17

On Wednesday, April 17, FMS eighth-graders will visit GHS as part of their transition to the high school.

Students will depart FMS by 12:45 p.m. and arrive at GHS by 1 p.m. The program will include a welcome assembly followed by Q&A session, GHS Club Fair, and an extensive tour of the high school.

Students will be dismissed at 3:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the transition program, students will take the high school’s late buses home; no high school students will be riding these buses on this date.

The drop-offs from the late bus runs are more generalized, so students will likely not be dropped off at their typical afternoon location and may need to walk a little farther than normal.

Any students being picked up by parents at the high school, or students wishing to walk home from the high school, will need to bring a note signed by a parent indicating permission (and for pick-up, the name of the person picking up) into their House Office by 10 a.m. the day of the visit.

A middle school shuttle bus will be available at 3:30 p.m. to bring students from GHS back to FMS for any athletic or other activity those students may need to attend.

If you have any questions, please contact your House Office.
