Please see the important message from Superintendent, Dr. Marie Wiles:
Dear GCSD Families,
I’m writing with an update to next week’s school schedule. As you know, there is no school from Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, November 27. We have also decided to make Tuesday, November 24, a half day to provide our faculty additional time for professional development and instructional planning.
In-person students in grades K-6 will come to school at their regular time for the half day. Students will be able to order a bagged lunch to pick up before dismissal according to the schedule below:
- Grades K-2 will dismiss at 10:30 a.m.
- Grades 3-4 will dismiss at 11:15 a.m.
- Grades 5-6 will dismiss at 12:00 p.m.
Our 7-12 students will also have a half-day of instruction but will be entirely remote that day. Instruction will take place between 10:10 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. The FMS and GHS principals will be sending more details about the 7-12 schedule for that day.
I also want to remind you that the deadline for submitting second-semester selections for instruction type and transportation needs are due by Friday, November 20. Find information and instructions on how to make these selections. Please note, if you do not make selections for each of your children by the deadline, we will maintain their current status; however, I encourage you to make selections even if nothing will change. This information is essential for us to plan for the second half of the school year.
Please feel free to reach out to your building principal with any questions.
