Job Description:

Registered School Nurse Continuous Recruitment

Position:          Registered School Nurse 10 Month position

Location:        Guilderland High School

Start Date:      As soon as practicable

The professional service day for school nurses shall be seven hours and fifteen minutes, exclusive of lunch.  School nurses shall work all days as indicated on the official school calendar which includes 183 days of instruction and all superintendent conference days.  In addition, the work year shall include up to 30 additional hours to be scheduled between July 1st and the first day of the school, for additional compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:  Licensed, Registered Nurse, Current CPR Certification

Responsibilities:  The School Nurse provides health services for students and staff and acts as advocate, liaison and consultant on health issues             

Job Duties Include:  Providing and documenting professional nursing services in accordance with Nursing Standards and NYS Licensing.

Identifying and assessing student health needs, implementing services and evaluating plans of care. 

Providing state mandated vision hearing and scoliosis screening,

Obtain, review and record mandated immunization and physical reports.

Act as liaison between home, school and community providers for medical issues.

Complete student and staff accident/insurance reports.

Compile and complete NYSDOH immunization survey.

Participate as a member of school’s Instructional Study Team

Participate as a member of school’s Crisis Team 

Salary: $43,000-$73,509. commensurate with experience

Description of Duties: 

Carry out the organization of instructional materials and provide educational support for students under the direction of the classroom teacher.  

Monitor and reinforce skills and concepts previously taught by the teacher in individual    or small group learning situations within the educational environment and under the supervision and control of the classroom teacher.

The successful candidate will have the ability to interact appropriately with students, teachers and supervisors.

Exhibit a child-centered philosophy and a willingness to work with students. communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.

Demonstration of good judgment, problem-solving skills and maintain confidentiality.

Regular attendance, acceptance of responsibility, willingness to follow established  procedures, cooperation and the ability to react appropriately to changing work conditions are normal expectations of the job.

Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Lifting may be required (Of objects of at least 5 lbs.; and up to and including assisting students).

Toileting may be required.

Salary: $18.51 Commensurate with experience

Office Assistant I

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED

Position: Office Assistant I 10 month position (7.5 hours/day)

Location: Guilderland High School Library

Start Date: January 8, 2024

Distinguishing Features of the Class:

This work involves responsibility for the performance of standardized clerical tasks and the full-time or substantial part-time operation of a computer for the entry and retrieval of information using software to produce printed material such as letters, memoranda and forms. Specific duties vary with the needs of the department. Procedures are usually fixed, but detailed instructions are given for new or difficult assignments. Work is reviewed by direct observation, checking completed work, periodic or spot checks, cross-checking or other steps in the clerical process. Does related work as required.

Typical work activities:

Receives and organizes work to be processed determining document format;

Prepares correspondence, documents, records and other written material in final or draft form using handwritten, rough drafts, marked copy, oral recordings or data from various equipment as the source material;

Proofreads and corrects work producing an accurate, clean and complete prepared copy;

Prepares, stores and retrieves lists and documents;

Answers by telephone and gives out routine information;

Updates and stores department forms on a computer or word processor;

Orders office supplies and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment;

Sorts, date stamps and distributes mail and packages;

Performs routine equipment maintenance tasks;

Serves as receptionist and greets clients and/or visitors;

Maintains alphabetic, numeric and/or chronological files of correspondence, documents and materials by coding and filing new material, searching for requested material and periodically purging obsolete material;

Schedules meetings and appointments;

May collect fees and account for monies received;

May prepare and maintain time records and payroll data.

Full performance knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics:

Working knowledge of modern office terminology, procedures, equipment and business English;

Ability to operate a personal computer and utilize common office software programs including word processing, spreadsheet and databases at an acceptable rate of accuracy and speed;

Ability to set up appropriate forms, charts and other tabular listings;

Ability to perform close, detailed work involving considerable visual effort and concentration;

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;

Ability to maintain neat and legible records;

Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Salary: $17.27-$18.04 commensurate with experience

Job Description:
The Custodial Worker works under the supervision of the Head or Assistant Head Custodian, Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds and the Building Principal and performs manual work in cleaning and caring of school district property and adjacent yards. The Custodial Worker also does minor maintenance tasks. While performing the dues of this job, the custodial worker is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and hear. The Custodial Worker must frequently li and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sweeps and mops floors, corridors and stairs.
Washes windows, walls, blackboards, sinks and other fixtures.
Empes waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish.
Vacuums and waxes floors.
Moves furniture and arranges chairs, tables and other equipment.
Clears snow and ice from walks, stairs and pathways.
Mows lawns, rakes leaves and performs a variety of outside grounds keeping acvies as assigned.
Delivers packages, messages and equipment.
Cares for furnace and boiler room equipment.
Paints rooms and equipment and assists in making minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
Monitors and reports vandalism to school property.
Gives directions to visitors and assists with outside acvies.

Related Expectations:
The Custodial Worker should demonstrate the ability to meet work schedules and maintain output of work under normal
conditions. Regular attendance, dependability, acceptance of responsibility, willingness to follow established procedures,
cooperation with supervisors and fellow employees and ability to react appropriately to changing work conditions are normal
expectations of the job.
The Custodial Worker should demonstrate a working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment. The
Custodial Worker must be able to follow simple oral and written instructions
