The Guilderland Central School District’s Information Technology (IT) department is responsible for overseeing the local and wide-area networks (LAN and WAN), computing devices and equipment. IT manages and implements the long-range technology plan, local and NYSED data warehousing as well as all systems related to classroom and administrative functions.
Engaged Learning Initiative (1:1 Program)
Stemming from the district’s vision, the Engaged Learning Initiative, implemented through a 1:1 chromebook model, focuses on continuously improving student learning outcomes. The department achieves this objective by providing the tools necessary to create an engaging educational experience while also empowering students with the technological skills needed for future success. In turn, this positively transforms the way teaching and learning takes place. By offering equal access to technology in the form of a Chromebook for each student, the district offers students opportunities for enhanced creativity, improved communication and enhanced critical thinking to best prepare students to meet both the challenges and possibilities their future holds.

Distraction-free learning at GCSD in the 2025-26 school year
In the 2025-26 school year, GCSD will join every NYS school district in creating distraction-free learning environments by requiring that personal electronic devices, such as cellphones, smart watches, Bluetooth/wireless headphones or other mobile communication devices be put away, from the start of the school day until the end of the regular school day.
Students at the elementary and middle school levels must have devices turned off and placed in a locker or cubby. Students attending Guilderland High School must have devices turned off and stored in a Yondr pouch, provided by the district, during the regular school day. Please visit the district website for more information about distraction-free learning and the Yondr pouch program at GHS.
eSchoolData Portal
The eSchoolData portal provides users with the ability to view attendance information by period, schedules, report card grades, progress reports and important dates and announcements.
The portal gives students access to only their own information; parents/guardians only have access to the profiles of the GCSD students for which they are a registered parent or guardian.
Once you are a registered user, click below to visit the appropriate portal.
Elementary school level portal information displays teacher placement information.
Middle school level portal displays house, team, homeroom and counselor assignments. Scheduling information is made available to students and parents on the first day of school.
High school level portal information is limited.
Once an account is activated, Parent Portal use is available. There is a self-service password reset located here. If further assistance is needed, please contact Aimee Schurick at schuricka@guilderlandschools.net or at 518-456-6200, ext. 0106.
