Dear Families,
We want to share an update regarding a facilities issue at Farnsworth Middle School that could lead to a temporary shift to remote learning next week.
At this time, three boilers are not operational, leaving some parts of the building without sufficient heat. If temperatures inside the school fall below safe and appropriate levels, we may need to transition to remote learning for FMS students while the boilers are being repaired.
Families will be notified no later than Friday afternoon if a shift to remote learning is needed for the following school week.
We understand that this is inconvenient, especially coming right after spring break. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work through this. A temporary move to remote learning allows instruction to continue without extending the school year while ensuring the safety of students and staff.
Please know the district is working as quickly as possible to resolve this issue. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep families informed.
Sincerely,
Daniel Mayberry
Superintendent of Schools
