Alexandra Nealis selected for the New York State Master Teacher Program
“As a NYS Master Teacher, I look forward to collaborating with trailblazing STEM educators to expand my knowledge and better serve my students.” -Alexandra Nealis
Guilderland High School’s own Alexandra Nealis, a science teacher with a commitment to excellence, has embarked on her first year in the prestigious New York State Master Teacher Program. The four-year initiative brings together outstanding educators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) from across the state.
Ms. Nealis, who teaches both Regents and honors chemistry, is eager to engage in workshops and share best practices with 17 other Capital Region educators. They will explore cutting-edge teaching methods through collaborative projects, integrate technology into the curriculum, and develop creative strategies to inspire young innovators. Ms. Nealis’ enthusiasm for teaching is matched by her dedication to continuous learning about the latest advancements and methodologies in STEM education.
Beyond her classroom responsibilities, Ms. Nealis proudly advises the Science Olympiad club and co-advises the National Honor Society chapter. She also actively contributes to our school community by serving on the Building Cabinet and the Teacher Administrator Liaison Committee. Additionally, she is involved in the American Chemical Society’s Science Coaches program and holds memberships in the National Science Teaching Association, the Science Teaching Association of New York State, and the American Association of Chemistry Teachers.
