The 340 members of the Guilderland High School Class of 2026 and their families gathered at the MVP Arena on Friday, June 26 for their commencement ceremony.
Speakers at the ceremony included Michael Piscitelli, GHS principal; Daniel Mayberry, superintendent; and Alicia McTiernan, GHS science teacher. A number of student speakers, Angelina Mantoo, Yoonsoo Sam Woo and Alivia Attanasio, also took the stage.
Senior class advisors James Corona and Meghan Tidd announced the roll call, while Superintendent Mayberry and Board of Education President Blanca Gonzalez-Parker presented students with their diplomas.
The audience was treated to a number of musical interludes, including the “Star Spangled Banner,” by seniors Connor Cady, Isabella Clemente, Derek Johnson, Emily Maguire, Destinee Morris, Marie N’Gom, Sofia Parker, Savannah Skeeter and Toby Weiss. Under the direction of Susan Curro, seniors joined their fellow orchestra members for one last time to perform “Bacchanale” by Camille Saint-Saën.
