Jan. 21: Four New Cases

Today the district learned of four individuals testing positive for COVID-19. Two cases are connected to Guilderland High School, and neither required contact tracing by the school. One case is connected to Farnsworth Middle School and did not require contact tracing. There was also one positive case at Pine Bush Elementary School. The building principal followed Albany County Department of Health guidelines to determine who needed to quarantine as a result and those individuals have been contacted.

The positive case at Pine Bush Elementary School was determined as part of the district’s surveillance testing. As a result of this case and the need to quarantine several individuals, Pine Bush has a staffing shortage at the 3rd-grade level. Therefore, all 3rd-grade students at PBES will be remote-only tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 22, through Friday, Jan. 29. Third-grade students and staff will return for in-person instruction on Monday, Feb. 1.
