Important update on free school meals for the 2022-23 school year

The federal waivers in response to the pandemic which allowed free school meals to be provided to all students are ending for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. Students from households that meet federal income guidelines are eligible for free or reduced-price meals; to determine if your are eligible for free or reduced-price meals at school for the 2022-23 school year, an application must be completed and submitted. Free and reduced-price meal applications can be downloaded here, obtained at each GCSD school or by contacting the Food Service Department at 518-456-6200, ext. 0110. Please be certain to thoroughly complete the application; the district cannot approve an incomplete application.

By applying for meal benefits, you may be eligible for the following:

  • P-EBT funding
  • Reduced or waived fees for SATs exams, AP exams
  • Reduced or waived fees for college applications and college course tuition
