Each week, we highlight two student-athletes (modified, mod 9, frosh, JV or varsity level) for athletic accomplishments based on the following criteria:
- The athlete should have made a significant impact on a contest within the nomination timeframe, which is the week prior to selection; or
- The athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement or effort, community service and/or other notable traits.
Congratulations to Vinay Kondreddy (Varsity Cross Country Ski) and Emily Eberz (Mod 9 Girls Basketball) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of December 15th.
Vinay Kondreddy (Varsity Cross Country Ski)
In his first year on the team and first race of the season, Vinay won the 3K Beginner Boys Race held at Garnet Hill by a wide margin (30 seconds) over the second place podium finisher. This result helped propel the Guilderland Beginner Boys team to a first place team finish overall. This is an amazing accomplishment for a first year skier!
Emily Eberz (Mod 9 Girls Basketball)
As point guard, Emily leads her team on the court with determination and tenacity. In a recent game, she contributed 7 points and had 10 steals to help the Lady Dutch beat Bethlehem 32-24. Earlier in the same week, Emily delivered a standout performance by scoring 19 points against Bethlehem. This contribution was vital in securing a 39-26 victory. Way to go Emily!
