Each week, we highlight two student-athletes (modified, mod 9, frosh, JV or varsity level) for athletic accomplishments based on the following criteria:
- The athlete should have made a significant impact on a contest within the nomination time frame, which is the week prior to selection; or
- The athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement or effort, community service, and/or other notable traits.
Congratulations to Peyton Dominy (Varsity Flag Football) and Maryn Vrooman (Varsity Softball) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of April 13th.
Peyton Dominy (Varsity Flag Football)
Peyton delivered a dominant all-around performance in a 28-14 win over Niskayuna last week. She completed 6 of 9 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns at quarterback, while also catching three passes for 60 yards and a score. On defense, Peyton was involved in numerous tackles and intercepted three passes. The win marked the program’s first home victory and its second of the season.

Maryn Vrooman (Varsity Softball)
Maryn batted .500 with an RBI, two runs scored, two sacrifice bunts and a stolen base as the team went 2-0 on the week. She has taken on a new role defensively and contributed consistently, doing what is asked to support the team’s success.
