Ian Eisenhandler (Varsity Wrestling)

Congratulations to Ian Eisenhandler, our Dutchmen of the Week for the week of Dec. 4. Just a freshman, Ian competed in the final match of the night at  Niskayuna last week. With his team trailing going into his match, he pinned his opponent to give the Dutchmen a victory by a final score of 32 to 20!

Avery Kerr (Indoor Track & Field)

Avery had another fantastic weekend, winning all three events she participated in. She started the day with the 1500, an event she doesn’t usually compete in, and easily won with a time of 5:06.3, an all time personal record and tenth all time in Guilderland history. Her second event was the high jump; her winning jump of 5 feet 2 inches is fifth best jump in school history and gave Avery another personal record. She finished her three event sweep by easily winning the 1000 meter run. With this event she became the second fastest runner in school history. It’s very early in the season and Avery is off to an unbelievable start. These kinds of performances would be great for championship season and it is only early December! We are all looking forward to see what else is in store for the season.
