Mar. 22 update: candidates for BOE; health hygiene

A message from Dr. Wiles:

Dear GCSD Families,

Currently the Guilderland Central School District is seeking candidates for the board of education. On May 17, voters will elect four board members to fill three vacancies of three-year terms and one vacancy of a one-year term. Guilderland community members interested in running for the GCSD Board of Education must submit a Nominating Petition, which can be obtained by emailing the District Clerk at livingstonl@guilderlandschools.net. Candidates must also complete and submit a Board of Education Candidate Profile form no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 18. Community members interested in learning more about what it means to be a school board member, can read about it on the district website.

Reminder to practice good health hygiene

Despite the fact that mask wearing is no longer required in GCSD school buildings, it’s extremely important that students continue to practice good health hygiene and follow the GCSD return to school protocols. This includes students remaining home when they are not feeling well or exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19. This simple step can go very far in reducing the transmission of COVID-19 and other seasonal viruses. If you are unsure if the symptoms your child is experiencing are COVID-19-related, please use an at-home COVID-19 test kit. Additional at-home test kits can be obtained from your school nurse.
