Nov. 13: Positive COVID-19 Cases at FMS and GHS

On the afternoon of Friday, November 13, the district learned that three individuals connected to Guilderland High School and one individual connected to Farnsworth Middle School have tested positive for COVID-19.

The district and the principals from GHS and FMS are working with the Albany County Department of Health (ACDOH) to supply contact tracing information. For anyone exposed, the health department will reach out and advise on the need to quarantine and arrange for testing.

The district continues to follow all prevention protocols in accordance with guidelines from the New York State Department of Health and CDC — this includes a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all school buildings, and at this time, all schools remain open for in-person instruction.

Please contact your building principal if you have questions about the district’s health and safety procedures. Questions concerning testing procedures can be directed to the Albany County Department of Health at (518) 447-4580. As a reminder, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information and we cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.
